About

Hello!

I'm Christine, an artist and art teacher from Massachusetts. I have been teaching Art and Art History to students in grades K-8 since 2008. In my personal artwork, I am primarily a painter, but I also enjoy printmaking, photography, ceramics, glassblowing, and mixed media. I have a B.F.A. in Art Education and an M.A.T. in Art.

In my Art History lessons, I teach my K-8 students about a different "Artist of the Month" each month.  I create a PowerPoint about each artist that includes a student-friendly biography and several slides of their artwork.  This curriculum is explained in my Art Appreciation blog post, and the PowerPoints are for sale in my Teachers Pay Teachers store, All About Art.

Sometimes, the projects we do in art class are inspired by the "Artist of the Month" we learned about.  In this blog, you will find samples of the art lessons I have done with my K-8 students.  We do not copy the artist's work directly... we study their themes, techniques, and use of the elements, and we use that as inspiration to create our own personal artwork. I am passionate about helping each student discover their own voice and style in art.

I hope you find these lessons useful in your classrooms or learning environments!  Feel free to connect with me at Christine@allaboutarted.com, or come find me on social media!
